Bird Box Building Day (March
8, 2003)
On Saturday March 8th over thirty-five
volunteers from elementary schoolers to their grandparents attended
a bird box building day at the Audubon/FARMS center in Winters,
CA. Volunteers learned about bird species along Putah Creek
and their habitat requirements, constructed bird boxes from
pre-cut kits and hung bird boxes on Craig McNamara’s property,
in an organic walnut orchard and along the creek, to add to
the Putah Creek Nest Box Trail.
