Cage Refreshers at Winters Nature Park

July 20 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

Join us on Saturday, July 20th from 8:15AM-11:15AM at the southside of Winters Putah Creek Nature Park! We will be removing cages from trees that have outgrown them, and rewrapping them in less restrictive fencing. Caging prevents our young, native trees from being eaten by beaver.

Please wear sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a reusable water bottle. All necessary equipment, water, and snacks will be provided. This event is open to all community members ages 16+ regardless of skill and previous experience! We will teach you how to use the tools and the best methods.

Please note that you must be age 16 or older to participate in this event, due to the sharp equipment and tools we will be using.

Meeting Location: Outside of the Winters Community Center. The address for the Winters Community Center is 201 Railroad Ave, Winters, CA 95694. We will meet on the side closest to the Railroad Bridge, near the old amphitheater/stage. From there, the site is about a 7 minute walk, including an uneven stairway.

Please do not attend any PCC volunteer event if you have had a COVID-19 exposure or are experiencing any COVID or cold/flu symptoms. For any questions about this event please contact Maddie Galal (maddie@putahcreekcouncil.org).

NOTE: Please do not sign up with a school email. Our messages have been sent to spam in the past, and personal email is better for event communication. Thank you for understanding!
