Earth Week: Native Plant Garden Workday at Sackett Ranch

April 25 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Celebrate Earth Week on Thursday, April 25th from 9AM-12PM by caring for the Putah Creek Watershed Native Demonstration Garden here at Sackett Ranch. The garden is a collaborative project between Putah Creek Council, Yolo Master Gardeners, Solano Master Gardeners, and the Solano County Water Agency. We will be weeding and adding mulch. This is also a great opportunity to view the garden in spring bloom, as access is limited to public workdays such as these.

Species that may be in bloom include:
– “Common Yarrow” Achillea millefolium
– “Silver bush lupine” Lupinus albifrons
– “Tidy tips” Layia platyglossa
– “Tansy-leaved phacelia” Phacelia tanacetifolia
… and more!

Please wear sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a reusable water bottle. All necessary equipment, water, and snacks will be provided. This event is open to all community members regardless of skill and previous experience! All ages are welcome, but a guardian is required for children under 12. Participants under age 18 will need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

Please do not attend any PCC volunteer event if you have had a COVID-19 exposure or are experiencing any COVID or cold/flu symptoms. For any questions about this event please contact Maddie Galal (maddie@putahcreekcouncil.org).
