Join us on Saturday, October 7th as we help the Solano County Water Agency with a restoration planting at their Peterson Ranch property (in Rio Vista). We will be planting native plants to support pollinators, birds, and wildlife. This project will build on a planting done by PCC volunteers, OneCreek technicians, and staff with the help of SCWA staff in Spring 2023. We will be planting species such as, gumplant, mugwort, coyote bush, rose, goldentop, buckwheat, aster, coffeeberry, monkey flower, and oak trees into the hedgerow along Rio Dixon Road.
Peterson Ranch is former grazeland that Solano County Water Agency purchased and is restoring with native wetland and upland plants with the goal of supporting pollinator species, creating habitat for burrowing owls, and creating a mitigation bank for a state water project. This project will build on a hedgerow planting done by PCC volunteers, OneCreek technicians, and staff with the help of SCWA staff in Spring of 2023. We will be planting species such as, gumplant, mugwort, coyote bush, rose, goldentop, buckwheat, aster, coffeeberry, monkey flower, and oak trees into the hedgerow along Rio Dixon Road.
Please do not attend any PCC volunteer event if you have had a COVID-19 exposure or are experiencing any COVID or cold/flu symptoms. For any questions about this event please contact Nicolle Herr (nicolle@putahcreekcouncil.org).
