Join us on Saturday, October 28th from 9-12 for a workday planting at the native plant demonstration garden here at Sackett Ranch. The garden is a collaborative project between Putah Creek Council, Yolo Master Gardeners, and the Solano County Water Agency. We will planting a variety of 60 plants including milkweeds, bush monkeyflower, coyote mint, buckwheat, and native vines and shrubs.
Please wear sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a reusable water bottle. All necessary equipment, water, and snacks will be provided. No prior experience is needed and all are welcome!
Meeting location: 3373 Sackett Lane, Winters, CA 95694. Sackett Lane is a 1.6 mile long gravel road. Speed limit is 15 mph in order to keep dust to a minimum and help us stay friends with our neighbors. Ignore all the signs that say Private Property and continue for about a mile. Follow the sandwich board with a sign for Putah Creek Council. Drive through the orange gate and park in front of the white greenhouses or along the shadehouse on your right. Look for us in the native plant garden past the white building on your left, with the yellow safety barriers. I will have the white PCC truck parked next to the native plant garden to help you locate it.
Please do not attend any PCC volunteer event if you have had a COVID-19 exposure or are experiencing any COVID or cold/flu symptoms. For any questions about this event please contact Nicolle Herr (nicolle@putahcreekcouncil.org).
