Join us on June 24th for a workday in Lake Solano Park maintaining some native plantings near the Nature Center. We will be hand pulling some annual grasses and replanting some plants that have died (such as lupine and Pacific aster). Depending on volunteer turnout, we may also replant some toyon and redbuds that have been overgrazed in the campground.
Wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing (sun hat, loose, light-colored clothing, and sunscreen). Bring a reusable water bottle. Water, snacks, and all necessary equipment will be provided. No prior experience is needed and all are welcome!
Meeting location: 8685 Pleasants Valley Rd, Winters, CA 95694. Park on the day use side of the park but do not pay for parking; volunteers will receive a parking pass from event staff to display on their dashboard. Meet PCC staff across Pleasants Valley Road in front of the Nature Center.
Please do not attend any PCC volunteer event if you have had a COVID-19 exposure or are experiencing any COVID or cold/flu symptoms. For any questions about this event please contact Nicolle Herr (nicolle@putahcreekcouncil.org) or Rachel Snodgrass (rachel@putahcreekcouncil.org)
