Native Plant Maintenance at Lake Solano Park

March 23, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join Putah Creek Council for a day of caring for the native plants at the Lake Solano Park Campground! After the LNU Lightning Complex Fire, many slopes in Lake Solano Park’s campground were left burned and bare. Putah Creek Council volunteers and seasonal restoration technicians installed native plants around the Nature Center and now we need to give them some TLC. Volunteers will be weeding, pruning, mulching, and caging around the campground’s newly planted native plants. Tree cages will be added around restoration sites to protect plants from public use of the area to ensure success! Native plants and trees improve water quality, habitat for birds, small mammals, and beneficial insects, and help prevent soil erosion. Join us and get your gloves dirty!
