Putah Creek Council is bringing back the successful OneCreek Seasonal Restoration Technician Program this spring. This program has gained popularity among people looking to gain experience in the habitat restoration and conservation fields. Make valuable connections with local agency representatives, experts, and stakeholders within the Putah Creek Watershed, while gaining hands-on experience in habitat restoration, native plant landscaping, outdoor recreation management, native plant propagation, and nursery operations.
In addition, the program will include science skills development. In an effort to expose participants to the science behind the various restoration projects and research being conducted in the region, PCC has reached out to various experts in the area. Possible activities will include assisting with Restoration Project implementation, learning native plant nursery techniques, and much more!
The Spring 2023 OneCreek program is set to run for 8 weeks from the first week of April through the last week of May, with a week off for Spring Break.
The program meets twice weekly at various restoration sites within the Putah Creek Watershed and Putah Creek Council’s Native Plant Nursery. Technicians can expect to work 6-8 hours per week, and the program is flexible based on participant schedules. Program participants will work under the supervision of Putah Creek Council staff to gain hands-on experience with plant care and planting, and gain knowledge and experience from meeting and working alongside other regional restoration professionals.
